Any recommendations on which canal cruises are rated as being of the best?

Depends on what you are looking for.
Many posters like the Dam Boat Guys; we used the Blue Boat Company.
Some canal cruises are simple and give good narration while cruising. Others have a more party-like atmosphere. Our was simple and enjoyable and gave us a good view of the city.
Trip advisor offers a good run down of options on all the cruises offered.

We took one of the Blue Boats and were happy with it. Comfortable, good narration, not a party.
