Looking for a good hotel or B&B in Amsterdam at a good location. I don't want to have to take public transportation. Actually, we prefer a B&B.
Normally, I would suggest Hotel Vondel, but it would require taking the highly convenient public transportation. I have seen some threads recently where people talked about staying on a canal boat. Is that something that might interest you?
I booked the Nadia Hotel Amsterdam, which is in a great location. Rooms are small, but the hotel gets very good reviews and is not expensive.
I see you have already booked, we will be in Amsterdam this July for 4 nts, my first visit, we choose Hotel Fira based off of a search on this forum.
For a historic home stay, I recommend the 21 Herengracht B and B. It is family owned, along a canal, and only 10 minutes walk from the Central Station. Loes and her husband took wonderful care of us. We booked directly with them and saved us both on fees. We arrived in the morning, they stored our luggage and we were off to sightseeing. The breakfast was incredible. The rooms were up on the 3rd and 4th floor, so it is not handicapped accessible, but we enjoyed trekking up the winding stairs to our rooms. They made helpful recommendations for directions, meals, and sightseeing. As we were there at the end of March 2022, many of the Covid testing sites had closed. Loes made a call and arranged for a person to come to the B and B to test us before our flights home. Our whole family group loved it.
We loved this place: https://sweetshotel.amsterdam/locations/sweets-hotel-amsterdam-kortjewantsbrug/
It's not a B&B precisely, but you can prearrange breakfast that will be delivered to you.
