After a Uni-World Netherlands cruise, we will disembark in Antwerp, then we will have 3 nights to spend between Bruges and Brussels. I am very confused about how to spread my limited time between the two countries. After reading Rick Steves book and reading this travel forum, I think I'm better with 2 nights in Bruges, one in Brussels. More enjoyable in Bruges?
We will fly home from Brussels.

I think you have it right. One day in Brussels will suffice.

I love Bruges and can easily stay there for a week, but for most people 2 full days is enough. I'm not a big fan of Brussels, so I would recommend that extra day in nearby Ghent. It's only one train stop away from Bruges and you can make a day trip out of it. Both places are stunningly beautiful...Brussels not so much.
Thanks, Michael and Norma -the decision has been made: two nights Bruges, one night Brussels, then home.
I will follow Rick Steves walking tour and other sight seeing tips of his. That will be enough after the cruise, and 4 pre-cruise days in Amsterdam.
Much appreciation,
Joy
Thanks, JG. You've all been very helpful.
Thank you all for your opinions on time to spend in Brugge and Brussels. We did spend more time in Brugge. However, we also enjoyed our day in Brussels. So many things to do; so little time. Two completely different cities. Canal boat, great restaurants (best white asparagus), waffles, chocolates, the list goes on. Highly recommend each.
FYI: we flew home from Brussels. Very convenient to take the train, which stops right in the airport. Beats a cab.

Thanks for the follow up!
