Best World War II Sites in Nederland

We will be in Nederland May 5-11. We are excited that May 5 is Liberation Day and are hoping to see some of the celebration in Amsterdam. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We are also interested in the areas around the country to see World War II
sites. Thanks for your input.

Thanks to both of you. The link to the museum in Arnhem was especially helpful. We will see it all.

We really enjoyed the Ten Boom museum in Haarlem which is only about fifteen minutes by train from Amsterdam. Very interesting house where a family hid Jews during the holocaust. Look it up on their website for hours when to visit. It was one of the highlights of our visit.

May 4 is a day of remembrance . The king lies a wreath at the national monument on Dam square in Amsterdam and there is a minute of silence in the whole country but May 5 is not really celebrated . It has been suggested that every 5 years it should be celebrated ( every year seems too much ).This being 2015 , maybe it's celebrated this year ?

I have searched to see if there were liberation festivals on may 5 in Amsterdam. YES !. There is a "vrijheidsfestival" (freedom festival) this year in Westerpark which is not far west of Central Station . I hope this helps.
