I am leaving for Amsterdam this Thursday, Jan. 4th, and returning following Tuesday, Jan. 9th. What is a good medical insurance I can purchase without being bombarded with phone calls? Any other kind of insurance I should get besides medical? Thanks Tom
Tom, we've bought through insuremytrip.com the last 3 years, and have never had a phone call. You will be able to choose your insurance carrier from a number of options.
Travelguard Medevac Per Trip is a start.

It’s a bit late because most policies have pre-existing condition clauses. Go to insuremytrip, as stated above, and read the policies carefully. Do you want medical and/or evacuation.
BTW, I ‘ve never had a phone call from these companies. Lots of email ads or updates, but no calls.
I Thank everyone for their feedback! I am looking at all of these options now. Thanks! Tom
I just signed up for the GEOBlue Trekker Choice Multi-Trip medical plan. This plan covers unlimited trips for one annual price as long as each trip does not exceed 70 days in duration. It has a contracted network of elite physicians, specialists and hospitals in 180 countries that are directly paid by the plan (so that there are no claim forms to fill out as long as you choose in-network). Pre-existing conditions are covered. You must be under 85 years old and already enrolled in an individual or group health plan in the United States (Medicaid and VA Insurance does not qualify).
I chose this plan since it will cover me for all of 2018 for a premium of just $175 regardless of how many trips I take. I don't want to be in a position where I have to use this plan, but it gives me peace of mind since it has the best possible coverage for sickness, accident and emergency evacuation.
