Many here rely on AutoEurope when booking cars in Europe - competitive pricing and clear explanations of the insurance options. You might start there if only to get a baseline re costs, then continue to shop around for a better deal. Can sometimes find good deals by booking thru companies or organizations where you may be a member - the auto club, Costco travel or USAA travel spring immediately to mind.
