Best Place to buy a multi day pass for transportation

I know I had found it before on this forum, but I can't seem to find it now. We are staying at a B&B outside of the city center and based on what I can find we will be anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes by bus/tram to get to everywhere, Anne Frank, train station etc. We are 2 couples and one who would not be able to walk that far. So I was looking for the best multi day pass for 4 of us for 5 to 6 days? I know someone mentioned that may not be worthwhile, but I know we would use it several times a day while there.

Thank you

You don't have to buy a pass if you all have credit cards that are tap-to-pay enabled; I imagine most credit cards are these days.

All you have to do is tap it to the reader when you board - they're at every door on the tram - and then tap the reader again when you exit.

Even my tech-hating husband found this so easy and convenient, he was sold on it. And it saved us from having to stop at the ticket machine.

I was just reading about GVB multi day passes, since we will be using public transportation numerous times per day, is there any disadvantage to buying a 4-5 day pass? Is it only good for certain transportaion in certain areas? Or is the easiest just to use or CC in and out on any transportation?

No disadvantage to buying a multi day GVB pass. It can be used on all GVB trams, metro and buses in the whole of Amsterdam, and the cross river ferries are free anyway. Buy at the GVB office at Schiphol or the office outside Central Station.
The latter even has vending machines for them, so you don't have to wait in line for a human to human transaction.
Schiphol more than likely has vending machines, but I always arrive by train or international ferry, so don't know about that.

GVB is the name of the local Amsterdam public transport company that runs the busses, trams and metro/subway within Amsterdam and the immediate surrounding area. They don’t run the trains, these are operated by NS. So whether or not this pass is worth it depends on where you want to go and what kind of public transport you’ll take.

Dutch_traveller is absolutely right that whether it makes sense depends where you want to go. Also, this GVB pass/ticket won’t be valid on Connexxion (regional transport) buses in Amsterdam, so you need to be aware of whose bus you get on.

This GVB ticket won’t get you to Zaanse Schans for example. There is an Amsterdam & Region Travel Ticket that would cover all transport companies.

Whether it’s worth it again depends on how frequently you’re planning to take a tram/metro/bus and where to. As Amsterdam is very walkable, you may be using public transportation less than expected.

A combination of the GVB ticket with tap in/tap out for the trips outside Amsterdam may be the cost-efficient option. Maybe even tap in/tap out could be the best option. The OV9292 website will help give you insights in the travel costs

Thank you, I was wondering if there were buses that it wasn't valid for. So it looks like tap in and out is the easiest way to go. Appreciate the info
