Hi everybody,
I will be in Amsterdam for three nights in May. Could you recommend a nice hotel in the Museum quarter? Not too luxurious, more on the old-fashioned side, one of those small hotels without an elevator, with some character, but still good quality.
The area seems full of small hotels, which makes it hard to choose.

Hotel Fita- have immensely enjoyed 2 visits there.
Lovely staff, fantastic bkft, tram around the corner, has an tiny elevator.
Owl Hotel. I think we found it in whatever edition of the Rick Steves guidebook was current the year we went. The breakfast room and outdoor patio were wonderful. I've noticed others on the forum mention it.
I second Hotel Fita and add that, in addition to what was said above, they made the best scrambled eggs we have ever had. LOL
I’m currently staying in Hotel Aadlers and really enjoying it. It was recommended on the forum. Very friendly and comfortable. Great location for the museums.

I really like the De Ware Jacob boutique hotel, but it doesn’t fit your criteria - it has an elevator.
