Best day trip in January for College-Aged Artist

Dear All,
I'm traveling in January (brrrr!) with my 18 year old daughter who is an artist - mostly portrait paintings in pastel.

Our first stop upon arrival will be our favorite -- the Van Gogh museum. We have one day for one day trip.

Do you have any recommendations -- Utrecht, Haarlem, Delft, Leiden, other -- given 1) the season and weather in January and 2) my daughter's interest in art?

For example, is Utrecht just the name of an art supply store or can she see where paints and pastels are manufactured or do a masterclass in painting? Would you recommend a pottery masterclass in Delft?

Thank you very much in advance. Love RS books and videos!

I really liked the Centraal Museum in Utrecht. It has a real mix, from ancient ships to modern art, and you jump from period to period and style to style as you go through, so you're constantly seeing something different from one room to the next.

The Utrecht art supplies shop you'll find in Brooklyn. It does, of course, have a relation with the city of that name. According to their website the shop was named after a high school in the New Utrecht neighbourhood, which history goes back to the days New York and environs were Dutch.
Brooklyn itself also has a Dutch connection: its name is a corruption of Breukelen, a town close to Utrecht.
