We're planning a trip to Europe in early December to see our son (who goes to university in Rotterdam). We want to spend a night or two in Amsterdam before training to Rotterdam. Can we get some B&B recommendations in Amsterdam city center for 2-3 people? Thanks!

So, funny (sort of) story about out last trip to Amsterdam....
We did a 4-country, 12-university tour with our son who is now in his 2nd year at university in Rotterdam. We rented a car in Amsterdam for the first half of our trip. We drove into centraal and parked underground at the Rijksmuseum. After touring for a few hours, we returned to our car to grab sweaters before we took a dining cruise on the canal. We found the back window had been smashed. While there was nothing visible in the car, I did leave my backpack with a few things in it (including a tablet). Turns out that we were one of several families whose cars were vandalized. After spending a quality 4 hours at the local police station with the other families, we returned to the airport to trade-out our car. While we were there, a Chinese family who had been touring Europe with their young kids and elderly parents, had their luggage returned to them - minus the money they were carrying.
In any case, we never got to see Amsterdam before we had to leave the next morning for Utrecht so looking forward to seeing Amsterdam later this year.
By the way, we were tear-gassed in Toulouse, and had a harrowing ride on the cable car high above Barcelona when a vicious storm rolled in....but those are stories for another post!
