B& B

We are interested in staying in a B & B in Amsterdam that is moderate in cost and well located for 2 ladies traveling in Aug-Sept
Thanks Ann

When staying on my own, I like www.hotelbrouwer.nl; looks like their double beds can be separated into twins (not uncommon in Europe). Rick's book also specifically mentions a twin room at www.wildervanck.com. Not sure whether either has AC.

We spent 4 nights at Boogaards B&B and it was so amazing. You can see reviews on TripAdvisor. The owner was so helpful for us with Maps, recommendations, directions, and he is one of the best cooks . . . we had delicious breakfasts everyday and homemade treats/desserts every afternoon and evening. It is a typical Amsterdam home, in a great area. He treated us like family.

I am booked at the Barangay B&B for next week. It got amazing reviews on tripadvisor AND they are one of the only places I could find that serve a big breakfast for free. Price was really great too.

just take a look at the photos!

We are fans of Priceline for Amsterdam so I can't advise on B&B's but the one just suggested looks very appealing. The garden area and inviting entry look very special. We walked past the Brouwer located on Singel and I have to say it looked rundown with a very unattractive entry way--we were there in summer and there were no flowers, plants, etc. at the entry. Maes B&B is recommended on another travel forum and gets good reviews.

Several years ago we also stayed at Boogaard's. Peter was a fantastic host, friendly, helpful and pleasant. The breakfasts were extraordinary and gigantic. They even did our laundry for us before we left! (Had I known that, I wouldn't have been as conservative with socks). He has a new location now. We have also stayed with Prinx Studio Apartments, and again, a great experience. The owners were responsive to every inquiry and worked with us to accommodate our needs. It was our first apartment rental, I was nervous, and it was flawless. I would return to either without hesitation.
