My husband and I will be staying at an Amsterdam airport hotel and would like to spend the evening of Thursday, April 19 in Amsterdam. I would appreciate any suggestions regarding dining or entertainment in a modest-spending category. We plan to use Uber as transportation back and forth, primarily for the convenience of paying online. Thank you.

Both Train and bus from the Airport is easy and can use credit card, Uber into the city center can be pricey (~30 euro or more each way)
If I were to be there for an evening, I would probably head to my favorite beer bar that serves only Dutch beers (Proeflokaal Arendsnest) then find a nice canal side restaurant, away from the very center, you could really pick any cuisine, then wrap up with a long canal side walk. I would even head into the Red Light District, not for the "entertainment" so much, but some of the nicest canals and architecture are there. You could also do an evening canal cruise, even one that allows you to bring a bottle of wine.
