Arrival to Amsterdam airport with subsequent train connection.

Myself and my wife will be arriving on an Air Canada flight from Toronto, landing at Amsterdam Airport at 10.00 AM local time. We will not have any checked luggage. I am planning to take a train from airport train station to Antwerp leaving at 11.43 AM. I am keen to know from experienced travellers on this forum whether this connection is within a reasonable time frame, given the size of Amsterdam Airport, recent staffing issues etc. I do realize that the train ticket is valid for another train (IC) leaving in the same direction an hour later.

I have flown into or through Schiphol a bunch of times though not recently, so I can't comment on the recent situation with lines at immigration, etc., but I would personally be comfortable with that kind of layover for the train, especially without checked bags. I do move pretty quickly through the airport, though. Schiphol is huge but pretty easy to navigate in my experience.

I have done this several times and would be comfortable with your proposed timing, especially since you have no checked luggage and the option of a later train. Of course there's the caveat from the previous poster regarding current staffing levels at the passport check upon entry.

I often catch a train from AMS when going to Europe. I allow a minimum of 3 hours connection time. I think your connection time is too short if your flight is delayed which is always a possibility.

A ticket for the IC service will be valid for all trains on that route on the day. So it actually does not matter which train you pick when buying the ticket. With a bit of luck you could be even on the 10:43.
Just buy the ticket, and then take just take whatever train is the next one once you reach the station. They run every hour.
