My wife and I will be in Amsterdam for five nights in June. I would like to rent an apartment. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks so much!
Last May we spent 7 nights in Amsterdam at Prinx Studio Apartments. I believe there are two locations; on Haalemmerdykestraat near the train station and the Jordaan, the other closer to the museums. We were near the stations, friends at the other. Great experience. The owner, Ton, responded promptly to all our email inquiries...and there were several...and was completely accommodating and worked with us to meet our schedules and needs. Our friends stayed near the museum months later and had a very good experience as well. We liked our location as we took many day trips by train. Across the street is a full service supermarket and a wonderful bakery next to it. ATMs and many restaurants within a hundred meters of the front door. Our apartment was comfortably furnished with a well equipped kitchen area, separate bedroom, living room and nice bath. Check them on tripadvisor. We would return in a Dutch minute, if there is such a thing. This was our first apartment rental and it was flawless.
Hello Martin,
We will be in Amsterdam this May and rented an apartment in the Jordaan area from Airbnb.com The price was $140/night for 3 people. While researching accomodations, I found that to be very reasonable for Amsterdam (lodging in AMS in a good area is pricey!) The apartment comes with full kitchen, washer, dryer and wifi. This is our first time with airbnb but I've heard good things about them. The best part about airbnb is that the prices are in US dollars and the hosts do not get paid until 24 hours after you have moved in(u have 24 hours to file complaints) The money does get taken out of your account though. The reviews of the apartments are also tied to the person who actually rented the apartment vs just random people reviewing it.
Other places to look into for apartments would be homeaway and vrbo.
