Any tips for reserving a boat ride in Marken on the IJsselmeer

Watched Rick's YouTube boat ride on the old fishing boat. How would we reserve to do this?
How long was the boat ride? Planning to see Marken and Edam in the same day...decided to cut out Volendam due to time & too touristy. Any suggestions for must see/do tips in Edam?
This will be a day trip from base in Amsterdam. Planning to take bus for public transportation, or would train be more efficient?

Really depends on the number of persons, do you sail yourselves or need a captain etc. Search on 'boat rental IJsselmeer' or something similar and you'll find multiple possibilities. If you want to do it all in one day you might consider renting a fast speedboat though ;-)
