If you've ever been to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, how far out can one buy tickets ? We're to be there in April '26 but the online website calendar is not selling tix past Dec 2025. I check almost daily but just curious if anyone has experience as to when it may open up ?

If memory serves they only open tickets just a few months ahead, but I'm not sure about the exact schedule. I'd just check regularly.
Time slots for the Van Gogh Museum (please mind spelling) can definitely sell out in advance, but there really is no need to buy tickets more than half a year in advance. Check back at the end of February and you’ll still be very much on time.
I recently saw an article about the museum's hope/need to renovate soon. Be sure to check their status before planning around it.

I was there two weeks ago and bought my ticket on my phone while standing outside the museum. Then just went in. Have a look at the website. I for example see tickets available for most time slots for tomorrow. It really is not something that needs to be booked months in advance.
A friend in the U.S. bought tickets online last Sunday for our mid-February visit there. I had looked at the site myself and could definitely see the tickets available.
Maybe you are not looking on the official Van Gogh museum website. Because 2026 tickets are definitely there.

If you plan to visit in April, which is the absolute peak season in Amsterdam, you most definitely do need to buy tickets well in advance. The Van Gogh Museum sells out several weeks in advance during the high season.
