We are visiting Amsterdam in mid-May and tried to purchase tickets for Anne Frank House on-line today. The calendars that pop up only seem to be populated thru March. Does anyone know if they sell only 60 or 90 days in advance?
Most places like this sell 90 days out -- I don't remember when we got ours since it has been awhile, but the timed tickets let us walk right past a very very long line of people waiting to get into this tiny place.
Probably. Be sure to go back on as soon as they are available for your time in May. The online tickets sell out very quickly. You can still go, but will just have to wait in long lines.
The AF house is open till around 10/11pm most nights. If you show up and hour or so before closing you can typically walk right in.
I am assuming they are available online at 90 days out since they are now avail thru March.
We will be there early June and I intend to stalk the website beginning in March.
I let it go too late last year and was not able to get tix ahead of time. Did try to visit late in evening but the line was always quite long right up til closing (June 2015)
Amsterdam has much more on the Jewish presence in the city than the Anne Frank House. The impressive Portuguese synagogue and the more modest German synagogue across the road give a good impression of their long history in Amsterdam. The Hollandsche Schouwburg (»Dutch Theatre«) is a painful commemoration of their persecution. On http://www.jhm.nl/english you'll find the details for a worthwhile visit of these sites.
I am planning a trip for a party of 4. We would like to visit the Anne Frank House on 30 March and was online today to purchase tickets. I'm not sure whether online tickets are actually available 90 days ahead of time or only 60. Why? Because if you click on all the dates where availability ("events") is listed, the number of tickets increases up until mid-March and then drops suddenly to zero. I've sent the Anne Frank House a question regarding this and will post the answer here as soon as I receive a reply.
So I checked the site today and it seems that something has gone wrong with the online ticket option. The options make no sense and it's only showing 2 or 3 dates as available now. Not sure if they've changed the way tickets are sold but hopefully they'll get it back up and running correctly as what it's showing can't be correct.
When I went to purchase tickets on the site towards the end of January, it showed none available for the dates we wanted -- the 8th or 9th of March. However, about a week later I noticed a trend; small blocks of tickets started to be posted up to a month ahead. So I tracked the site over the past week, and sure enough, tickets became available for the 8th of March on the 7th of February. And I pounced. Not sure if this is typical. But it worked. Yay us!
Good luck.
I was able to buy three tickets over the weekend for the day after we arrive in Amsterdam mid-April. The March and April calendars didn't even seem accessible until then. We're thrilled. My husband I didn't get to see it when we visited there four years ago; the lines went on forever.
For those that don't get tickets online, show up just over an hour before opening. You wait that hour or so, but get inside just after it opens. Alternatively, sometimes the lines go way down during their evening hours.
Hi,
I am in the same situation - I have been tracking the website but the availability seems to be random. I am looking for the tickets with 30-minute program where they tell you about the family in more detail. As of now, those tickets do not seem to be available for any date. I am looking for tickets for 30th Apr or 1st May so I plan to keep checking the website everyday until I find tickets. If anyone find more information or a trend, please post here. Thanks! :)
I have noticed that the method that they display the tickets has changed. For the past month it showed the calendar in the monthly format. Now it just gives one day in March. Has anyone else noticed the change? Is this the norm?
Thanks
SandyH
I also have noticed the single day listing as well, today no days are available at all
It appears tickets just went on sale for May 1st - 12th.
I'll be there the following week, so still waiting and checking daily.
All April tickets are out again as well.
Was just able to purchase May 12th tickets
So I guess I found out t is just in time, website says online tickets available about 2 months in advance. I'm looking for tickets in the May 13th - 17th range. It looks like the 13th is not yet available. Anyone know the hour of the day when tickets become available for the next available day? I guess you really have to jump on these - but how bad is the typical wait time if you buy them at the museum?
I don't think there is any rhyme or reason as to when tix become available online.
I am looking for 6/4-6/6- have been checking the site daily- so far only May tix have been avail and a lot of those dates are already gone.
