We have timed tickets for the Anne Frank Huis at 13:00 late October. I was hoping someone could suggest an appropriate time to arrive and line up for entry. Although our tickets are timed, I've read comments reporting long lines of a block or so of people at the entrance. Our tickets include the 30 introductory program and state for us to report to the group entrance.

I went in April 2018 and my friend and I arrived 15 - 20 minutes before our timed entry. The line moved very well and the staff kept everyone organized. We were not delayed at all. We had to buy tickets online...not sure about now if people are able to walk up and buy a ticket on the spot.
My advice is to arrive when they tell you and where and I think you will be fine.
My experience was the same as Judy B. We arrived a few minutes before our timed entry and joined the well organized line. Be sure you are familiar with the location and allow enough time to arrive. The museum is excellent and a very moving experience.
If you have time, walk around the corner to the Westerkerk church and see the small, bronze statue of Anne standing outside.

We had an 8:15-8:30pm entry time, and the staffer walking up and down the line wouldn't even let us line up in the queue until 8:00.

Hi Charles, you don't need to show up much earlier. Maybe 5-10 minutes. They are very good with the time slots. It's a very impressive, yet simple set-up. It left a big impression on me.
We were at the Anne Frank Huis this morning. Our timed entry was at 10:00 AM. We arrived at 0935 AM. Our tickets did not include the 30 min. introductory program. That said, we were allowed to enter when we arrived. No queue time! We were there for almost 1.5 hours. It was very well organized. We had read Anne Frank Remembered a few months ago and felt it was a good introduction to the tour.
