Anne Frank House to Centraal Station

Will be leaving the Anne Frank House between 9:30-9:45pm on a Tuesday. Which tram from which station to get to Centraal Station??
Am getting significant advice from several websites. Please advise .. thanks!

The Anne Frank House website says the nearby tram stop is out of service until 2028. Google Maps suggests it takes nearly as much time to walk to a bus or tram stop (18-22 minutes) as it does to walk to Centraal Station (29 minutes). If you don't want to walk, you might try a taxi or ride share.

Thank you for sharing this! I land in Amsterdam from Hungary at 2pm in mid September and staying at airport hotel since I have morning flight back to US. Assuming I get the evening ticket for Anne Franke's House I'm hoping for in mid-September, I would most likely need to take a taxi or factor the solo night walk back to the train station.

Using CityMapper (app or website) it suggests walking is the about the most efficient (24 minutes), but you can walk 8 minutes to the Paleisstraat tram stop and then go to the station from there. Here's the route for this coming Tuesday, you'd of course need to update it for your actual travel dates and times https://citymapper.com/trip/Tdq3k7ajbhh

Thanks CL. I guess walking will be fine assuming a nice day/weather. And I expect lively since it will be Saturday.

Joy--FWIW, my daughter and I were there in early February one year and we never used the tram. We walked everywhere, including from the AF House to the central train station. I had also just come off a knee replacement. So even in the rain and with that, the walk was easy.

mikliz97. That is reassuring, thanks for sharing. Walking is usually not a problem for me but I tend to be extra careful when in a new place alone and late at night. But from what I am reading, this route is safe.

What time of year? It stays light until quite late in the summer. We were in Rotterdam the end of April, 2026, and there was still some daylight left at 9:30pm.
Have a great trip.

Joy--We never felt unsafe on that trip. It was myself and my daughter, early 30's. Obviously use common sense and if you have a gut feeling go with it, but we did not have any issues.
