Hi
Have been reading all the posts about getting these tickets when they are released. So for those going in Oct...we did log in at 3:45 am Eastern Daylght time to the website and kept refreshing the screen . At 401 the date was open and we selected the first time slot for the tour with the educational introduction. By 408 many of the morning times were almost sold put and by 430 the first slot was. So I'm glad we got up. Plus it added a little drama to our lives. There are tickets still available for that week.
I was lazier than Diane. In the couple weeks before the date I wanted for Anne Frank tickets became available, I checked the website on Tuesdays to get a sense of how quickly the tickets were going. Based on that, I was confident that I could sleep the night before getting my tickets. On August 22, I went online at 9am and had no problem getting my tickets for Oct. 2 with plenty of choices. If you have some flexibility on time slot and date, it is probably not necessary to do it at 4am for October or later in the fall.
Diane, I'm with you. Visiting the Anne Frank house was a priority for me, so I got up at 3:45am also. I was able to select the exact time we wanted. Totally worth it! Went back to sleep with a smile on my face.
Visiting the Anne Frank House and Museum was one of the most moving moments of my visits to Europe.
It is well-worth whatever it takes to be able to visit it and experience the humanity of the venue.
