Amsterdam Rjisttafel Recommendation, Please

We were in Amsterdam about 12 years ago and enjoyed a fabulous rjisttafel at a restaurant recommended by the owner of the B&B we stayed at, but of course cannot recall the name. It was a very local place, off the beaten path, and not at all touristy. We will be in Amsterdam again at the end of March. Any recommendations for another good one? Thank you in advance for letting me pick your brains.

Two years back Peter Boogaard made a reservation for us at Sampurna on Singel, across from the Bloemenmarkt near the Koningsplein end. We enjoyed it very much.

In July 2015 we ate at JUN and enjoyed it very much. It's in the same area as the Anne Frank House.

You might be best served by asking your hotel if they have a favorite Rjisttafel restaurant in the neighborhood. I too love the food. What many people don't realize is how gentile the Malaysians are that seat you and wait on you. It's just a great experience.

I am unable to recommend a good one, however I can tell you to avoid Puri Mas. Our experience there was spotty service and sub par food. Not impressed.

We had good luck with http://www.kantjil.nl although we have found that we do better ordering a selection as the rice table always includes an emphasis on volume rather than quality. Half that many dishes that we choose rather than another curried cabbage work better for us.

Most restaurants make ordering something other than the rice table difficult Kantjiil et Tiger makes it easy and so after we had had the spread one night we returned a couple nights later and ordered individual dishes we particular enjoyed. We don't need tons of food but we really care about the particulars and this worked great for us at no greater cost than the rice table.
