Looking for assitance in finding a good and reasonable Rijsttafel restaurant.

We ate at Blauw in May, partially based on the recommendation of Amsterdamfoodie. It was outstanding. I recommend the walk through Vondelpark before or afterwards.

We also ate Indonesian food at Tujuh Maret, but not the rijsttafel. That meal was also outstanding.

Has anyone been to Kantjil for rijsttafel? It seems to be one of the few that will do it for 1 person. I an traveling alone and would like to be able to try the variety of dishes.

In response to Sue about Rijsttafel for one, I also looked and did not succeed in finding one for the times and day I needed. The Kantjil menu online says "2 person minimum" so I did not try it.

I did enjoy eating at an Indonesian restaurant called Cafe AMOI at Kinkerstraat 53A. It was highly recommended on some foodie blogs I read and it was very good but "rijsttafel" was not on the menu. This probably reflects my lack of understanding of the cuisine but my impression was that there are items on the menu that you can order individually that are also typical of rijsttafel (?).

Tujuh Maret for sure. Went there for our anniversary last May, and will be back there for my wife's birthday next July.
One thing to note is that they had a fairly strict 2hr window for dinner. About five minutes past that window, they kindly ushered us on our way (we were done eating and chatting to the neighbors at the next table). Make a reservation, but expect it to be that time frame and not much longer.
