Amsterdam itinerary feedback

My spouse and I are two 70 yr olds and will be spending 4.5 days in Amsterdam prior to our Rhine River cruise. This is our first time visiting. Our intention is to travel with one carry-on and a personal item.

We arrive at Schiphol Airport around 6:30am on Tuesday morning, April 18. We will be staying in Haarlem during our stay and relying on public transportation.

Our tentative itinerary is:
Arrival day, Tuesday ( assuming good weather)—leave our luggage at the airport and take a bus to Keukenhof Gardens. We want to be up and moving after our long flight. Ideally we would like to get there as early as possible to get a jump on the crowds..

—return to the airport to get our luggage and then catch a train to Haarlem. Check-in the hotel and then start to explore Haarlem.

Day 2: canal ride in Amsterdam, Vermeer exhibit (tickets for 4:30pm…only time available). So bummed to learn we can’t enter Rijksmuseum prior to our Vermeer timed ticket

Day 3: Ann Frank House tickets for 11:30am, explore the city

Day 4: open to suggestions We enjoy the outdoors and scenic places to take photos.
Kinderdijk?? Molendriegang Drie Molens?? Would love to learn about windmills.

Day 5: need to catch River cruise by 2pm

Questions:

Should we purchase the combo Keukenhof tickets at the airport? Where can we store our luggage?

Should we pre-purchase transportation tickets? If so, which one?

What route to take to Kinderdijk or Molendriegang?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If you are able to get to Kinderdijk, you will see an amazing collection of 19 windmills in their original locations. Train to Rotterdam, switch to tram to riverfront. River boat to Kinderdijk, easy. If you are interested in windmills, this is where you should go!!

“ Should we purchase the combo Keukenhof tickets at the airport? “
You can buy the combo tickets right now online at the website of the Keukenhof. When you buy them you need to select a time slot for the bus, but according to the website of the Keukenhof your bus ticket is valid all day. So if you can’t make the time slot you selected, you can take a later bus.

“Where can we store our luggage?”
Both Schiphol Airport and the Keukenhof have lockers. It’s probably the easiest to store your luggage at Schiphol. See their website for more details.

“Should we pre-purchase transportation tickets? If so, which one?”
No necessary.

“What route to take to Kinderdijk or Molendriegang?”
Google maps is great at telling you how to get from one place to the other.
Another option for windmills is Zaanse Schans.
