Hello, My husband, teenage daughter, and I will be traveling to Amsterdam in August for 4 days (12 - 16th). Can anyone recommend good tours for both in Amsterdam and maybe the surrounding area as well?
Perhaps the above Search will include helpful info. In addition, join an Amsterdam Facebook group- perhaps that can be your daughter's assignment. Book Van Gogh tickets asap, and check the Anne Frank house website for details.
Have a great trip!
What are your interests? Are you wanting organized tour recommendations? Where in Amsterdam are you staying? Here are ideas from RS on highlights he considers worthy of visiting: https://www.ricksteves.com/europe/netherlands/amsterdam
Trains to other cities is so easy, such as Harlaam, Delft, Utrecht, Kinderdjik (with original, working windmills), Gouda, etc.
What we did and I thought was a lovely day, is the localbus.nl. They have 3 different routes and takes you to different villages. It is inexpensive, easy and a fun day.
We took a great tour that left from the train station that was a bus tour of Windmills and villages on the Zyder Zee. It was great.
As far as the city goes, you can do that on your own, walking or taking the trolleys.
Thank you all for these suggestions. These are all useful.
