Can you recommend an excellent guide in Amsterdam? Contact info please.
We will be there for 2 full days in July. Is that enough time?
What is your must see recommendations?
Kind regards,
Michelle
I've never thought a guide ws necessary for Amsterdam because it's so very easy to DIY with a minimum of research. Everyone will have different ideas of "must sees", because everyone has different interests and priorities. However, Rick has a list of suggestions on the Netherlands pages of the Explore Europe section of the website. Click on the At a Glance link.
July is a very busy time in Amsterdam, so once you decide what you want to do, you may need to book tickets in advance if they are required. For example, Anne Frank house in particular has very specific time frames for booking ahead and they sell out almost immediately.
thatdamguide.com is recommended by Rick Steves and we have friends who have used him and were very impressed. If he is booked, we love Tours By Locals

This guide offers what you need to know for your inaugural trip — and future visits — to the historic city. At the end of the day, Amsterdam is but a compact place; everything is within reach, so there is no need to rush. Embrace that spirit by slowing down. This timeless city comes to life as the morning mist recedes, revealing its gems. Watch the bicycles whiz by, and let the city enchant you, its beauty reflected in the shimmering canals lit up at night by the many arching bridges.
