Amsterdam Dutch Resistance Museum & Hermitage Museum

Arrived at Shiphol on Saturday Sept 10 and gate was not ready so we sat on taxi way for 20 minutes but in airport no issues.

Went to Dutch Resistance museum & it is closed for remodeling, due to reopen November 2022.

In March 2022 the Hermitage Museum broke ties with Russian Hermitage museum due to Ukrainian invasion. It is open but no exhibits for Russia.

I’m sorry you found these museums to be closed. I’ve reported the closures of the Resistance Museum (renovations) , The Amsterdam Museum (major renovations) and Hermitage (permanent closure) two times already to RS. The first time I reported it was back in March or April, the second time was a couple of weeks ago. Still there is no mention whatsoever of these 3 museums currently being closed. Unfortunately it seems RS can’t be bothered to provide up to date information on the website, which is a true shame.
I try to spot any mentions of one of these museums on this forum, but some pass by me. And of course, there are lots of people who don’t come to this forum at all and solely rely on the guidebooks.

The Resistance Museum is not what I expected. Rather than extolling guerrilla actions against the occupation, it challenged visitors to consider what they would do to survive the harsh conditions. Renovations may change that them; I am eager to see what's new.

I went to the Resistance Museum in April and found the perspective thought provoking, interesting, and unlike most other museums focusing on the resistance.

I was at the Resistance Museum back in 2018 and still remember how thought provoking it was. It was one of my favorite museums.

oooo--thanks for info about relocation of Amsterdam Museum. Is it worth going in its present relocation?

The Dutch Resistance Museum was one of my favorite museums ever. I still remember it and how interesting and thought provoking it was. It is definitely worth a visit.

Dutch_traveler, I'm sorry that RS did not update the information although I know they are understaffed. But still, that's their business and it should have been done.

Thanks Mardee. I guess what bothers me the most is that I have received no response whatsoever after I submitted the feedback forms. Nothing, zero, nada. Not even a “thanks for wanting to help out, but we’re too busy to update the website”.
And yes, both times the form was submitted correctly, because I did see the standard automated message that my message was received.
On the bright side, the Resistance museum is now back open again after 6 months of renovations.
The Amsterdam Hermitage is however still closed permanently and the Amsterdam Museum will remain closed for the next couple of years.
