That canalboat ride is exactly the type i would AVOID. Large boat. Canned audio. Covered top.
I would look for a smaller boat and a more personal tour.
People on the forum like captain jack, those damnboat guys , flagship , flying dutch boats…

We used Jack at https://amsterdamprivateboattour.com upon the recommendation of our hotel. We loved it!!! We also did a regular canal cruise with Flagship Amsterdam, and while it was not terrible, it just did not compare at all to the trip with Jack.
