Amsterdam Canal Cruise in Winter

My sister and I will be in Amsterdam prior to boarding a Christmas Market cruise of the Rhine. We want to do a canal cruise, however since it will be in early December we want an enclosed boat. We aren't looking for a party boat, just a reputable day trip for 90 minutes or so. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

There are dozens of operators that offer canal cruises in Amsterdam. They all follow pretty much the same route and will tell you basically the same stories.
There are so many operators that you don’t need to pre-book. And in december I definitely wouldn’t prebook. The reason is that it might rain and you don’t want to be on an enclosed boat when it rains. The rain going down the windows of the boat will make it impossible to see the sights properly. If the weather is nice and dry, just walk up to a canal cruise you like the look of, buy a ticket and board the boat.

Thanks for that tip! I am a little concerned about the weather, mostly rain not temperature. Waiting until we are there will help us make a good decision!

We used the Damn Boat Guys this past April, and it was cold and dreary, and they go rain or shine. They had blankets and gave us each a hot water bottle to put under our jackets. Obviously no one wants to go in a downpour , but they kept us warm. We also wore rain pants, which really does keep one warm.
Have a great trip!

I prefer a winter-spring cruise to summer-fall cruise as long as it isn’t raining. The main reason for my preferred time of year is that the tree leaves don’t block out the beautiful fronts of the buildings! If it’s sunny that’s an even bigger bonus to seeing the detail in the architecture.
