We want to take a scenic canal cruise in Amsterdam. I believe the St. Nicolaas Boat Club cruises have been shut down by the government (or has that been resolved?) I don't want entertainment. Does that rule out the Boom Chicago boats? It would be nice if historic points along the way are described. Any recommendations for maybe a smaller company?
We used the Blue Boat Company. The audio guide provided had some historical content and was very interesting.
There was also a little humor in the narrative but it was fun and informative.
Thanks!
You might also look into Those Dam Boat Guys. Small groups, lots of fun.
When I visited Amsterdam I used the Blue Boat company -- https://www.blueboat.nl/en/ -- taking their Blue Sky Boat tour. Those long enclosed glass topped boats with some canned tour had no appeal what so ever -- painful actually. With the Blue Sky option it was on a much smaller open boat, with a much smaller number of passengers and it's the boat's pilot telling you about their city from the canal. A whole lot more enjoyable and personable.
