Amsterdam best parking

We plan to drive into Amsterdam due to mobility issues. Can anyone recommend the most reasonable parking for a week. We will choose our hotel based on the parking lot. Thank you.

Have you given up on the idea of parking in Haarlem and staying next to the station? The car park is easy and will be much cheaper and easier than trying to park in Amsterdam. Driving in Amsterdam is really not a lot of fun. At all.

Have you considered a modern hotel by the Ajax Arena which has good transport into the centre?

Driving in Amsterdam is a nightmare ! You may find a hotel with parking in the outskirts . Trying to park in Amsterdam itself will drive you crazy trying to find a spot in mostly one way streets . There are garages across Amsterdam and if you are lucky there's a spot left but with mobility issues you would still have a walk. Most street parking is done via your phone where you put your license plate # and send that to the parking meter . When you leave and check out , the parking fee will be deducted from your Dutch bank account. So that's not going to work for you and you will need the system with parking meters that confuses tourists as well as locals . That's all I have observed and been told so if anyone knows more ; do tell .

There are modern underground garages but they are crazy expensive. Think €6.50/hour or more for short term use or up to €60 daily. They are also limited, you just cannot rely on driving from attraction to attraction. There is one at the Museumplein and other at the Dam, for that matter. They also have cheap Park and Ride facilities that are very convenient and cheap, just off highway ramps at points with easy tram access .

Public transportation is all adapted for disabled users and would be a better solution. If you dont want to deal with that even using couple taxi rides will come cheaper.

You've also got hotels like the Holiday Inn Express Sloterdijk Station with parking for 16 EUR/day. It is right at the train station just outside the city center, and just off the ring-road.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like the Park and Ride lots are the cheapest for a week. They require a tram or bus ride into the city center, but that's fine.

They do require and they will actually verify with your used transportation electronic cards! The reason for this provision is to prevent Park-and-Rides becoming just cheaper parking for people who work at the vicinity of the facilities or to allow nearby commercial buildings to offload whatever parking they want to provide into the P+R.
