I heard that the red light district moved from the center of town to avoid impolite tourists. Where did it move to? is it still worth a visit?
*The” Red Light district is still in De Wallen area of the center of Amsterdam radiating outward from the Oude Kerk ( the Old Church). There are actually a few red light districts in Amsterdam, but the largest one is in the oldest part of the city. The number of businesses in the district has been reduced in recent years, but the main district itself is still very much where it has been since the 14th century.
Aside from seeing how the Dutch approach to the world’s oldest profession works, the main red light district features some of Amsterdam’s oldest architecture.
