Will be in Amsterdam at the beginning of Oct. Would greatly appreciate your advice regarding:
Canal tour Company . Also, will not be purchasing the museum card so can we still reserve for Anne Frank and the Rijk?

can we still reserve for Anne Frank and the Rijk?

Google the Ann Frank Museum and buy online asap because it will sell out anytime.

The Rijksmuseum has no reservation system. Online buying might save you some time at the ticket desk.

Hi Gladys
We booked our cruise with getyourguide.com (amsterdam 1.5-hour evening canal cruise) Last year we did a private tour, (pricey) for 2 hours with appetizers and drinks which was great. It's site is rederijdejordaan.amsterdam. we were on the welmoed salonboot. The pilot (captain) was great all dressed up and very professional. told us about history of boat and amsterdam, a relaxing day going down through the canals with all the others cruising. hope this helps

We took a ride with this company and were happy with it. The boat left from near the Rijksmuseum as I recall. There are other canal boat ride providers, I believe, probably findable on Google.

We used Blue Boat Company - mostly because it was convenient to where we stayed. We were able to purchase a Rijks ticket combo, so we saved a few euro by doing that, and had tickets in hand when we went to Rijks, allowing us to skip the purchase line - but it was April and there wasn't much of a line to speak of...

My wife and I went on a private tour with Frans on his small boat when were in the Netherlands in 2015. He was a wonderful host and provided a unique route not taken by the major canal tour companies with commentary. We were staying at an airbnb right on a canal and he picked us up out front. We brought a bottle of wine and had a great conversation in a casual atmosphere. When we were finished, he dropped us off near a restaurant where we had dinner reservations. Based on the google translation of his business card, he may be limited to two customers at a time. If your interested, email him at f.schokkenbroek@hetnet.nl and tell him Jim and Jean from Utah say hi.

Here's the link for the Anne Frank House -- http://www.annefrank.org

You'll find that the museum is only open to those who hold tickets purchased on-line, and those tickets go on sale two months prior. You'll find that at the moment the tickets for the first seven days of October are about all sold out. Here is the link for ticket sales -- https://webshopannefrank.recreatex.be/Exhibitions/Register?Shop=C925F506-D4DD-46AD-A9FE-279CFC77E610&id=99863601-1E62-4629-9F9B-90A8DC40058E&refresh=y&language=EN

HOWEVER!! there are tickets made available only two weeks prior which include a 30 minute introductory program for €14. These tickets are not yet available for early October, so you have a greater chance to secure these -- https://webshopannefrank.recreatex.be/Exhibitions/Register?Shop=C925F506-D4DD-46AD-A9FE-279CFC77E610&id=09C54DAE-33E3-4465-AEF3-7C7CBEF6B887&refresh=y&language=EN

If you do not secure an on-line ticket, walk-up tickets are made available at 3:30pm.

JIm and Jean:
I tried Frans and received this reply:

Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, I had to stop doing cruises because of serious technical problems with my boat.
Give my regards to Jim and Jean.
Have a good stay in Amsterdam
