Amsterdam 2 Night Stay/ Train to Paris

I had good replies on last post on where to stay and things to do for 1st time in Amsterdam. I made a decision to stay at Wiechmann Hotel but now booked during my time frame in late May.I’m looking for something around the same area with a canal view would be nice. I’ve looked at a lot of different websites, looking for more suggestions. The stay is for myself and my 18yr old daughter.

After our 2 days in Amsterdam, we have to get to Paris to start our 14 day RS tour. It looks like train is the best way to go, hoping it’s not too hard to arrange. Any suggestions or advice for 1st timers traveling in Europe by train.

Thanks again for any advice.

Yes, take a Thalys TGV train to Paris from the Central station in Amsterdam. I made a trip from Paris to Amsterdam last April. Trip takes about 3-1/2 hours. Our train left from Gare du Nord station in Paris.
I think you can get your tickets 90 days in advance, you get better pricing that way.

Trainline, an agent for a number of European railway companies, already has tickets for May at the most attractive price of EUR 35.

The trip is not hard to arrange but the earlier you purchase the tickets, the less expensive they will be.
Just a heads up:
Some of the web sites have a different system on their calendar.
for example, US calendars go from Sunday to Saturday; calendars in Europe might run Monday to Sunday.
Also the numbering of the date is different.
for example, May 3, 2019 might be written as 3 May, 2019 or 3/5/19.
The websites mentioned by posters are good to use as well as the Thalys website.
You can also use Rail Europe which may be more expensive but based in the US if that makes you more comfortable.
