Airport to Oud West in Amsterdam

My wife and I will want a ride from the airport to our flat in the Oud West section. With all our luggage we prefer no public transportation option, and are willing to pay for the ride. What should I expect to pay and would it be wise to arrange for a ride in advance? Thanks...

I’ve found the Rome2Rio app to be fairly accurate in estimating fares for taxis within normal hours. Download the app then enter the airport name to your flat address. You should see several transportation prices one of which will be taxi fare.

We used a service called Schiphol Travel Taxi, made the reservation online, and prepaid €41 (in 2013) for a private transfer to a hotel near Leidseplein. They were a little hard to find in the airport, and we were supposed to show up within an hour of landing. (I'm sure they would have taken us, having prepaid, if immigration and customs had taken long, which they didn't that day.) The car was fine, driver pleasant and efficient, ride interesting. They also offer shared transfers where you may stop at other addresses before yours. I'd recommend this service if you're willing to pay for the convenience. Don't know how it would compare with a regular taxi but probably cheaper.

Took a cab from my hotel (DoubleTree Centraal, right next to the train station) to Schipol, and was about 55 EUR for 3 of us and lots of luggage (Feb 2018). I'd tack on at least another 10 EUR for Oud West. I agree that skipping public transportation with significant luggage is a good idea. The trains from Schipol are usually packed. It was actually about 7 EUR cheaper than Uber. I've never cabbed it into town, so there might be fixed rates.
