Two couples planning on picking up a rental car in Amsterdam to drive to Bruges and then on to Normandy sites. We are staying in the downtown area close to central station. Where should we plan to pick up the rental? Picking up at the airport is generally more expensive and we would have to get all four of us to the airport vs traffic in this part of the city? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks!!
Neil
Typing "car rental Amsterdam Netherlands" in the search box of google maps comes up with this:

Thank you, I see there are many places near the downtown. My question is really, how difficult is driving in the central area vs driving near the airport? Is it worth the hassle and $$ to pick up a car near the airport, and presumably, close proximity to major roads.
Thanks.
Neil
Exiting the city center of Amsterdam isn't difficult. The IJtunnel is right next to central station which links to the A10 freeway (2 miles away) which circles the city, and wallah you're out of the city center .
