Advice in Amsterdam about buying tickets for just 2 tram rides each in one afternoon/evening

We are arriving around 3:30 on a Tuesday into Amsterdam Central. If it is raining, we will want to take a tram to Winkel 43 and then a tram back to Amsterdam Centraal. We fly home the next day.

How and where do we buy tickets for the two of us for essentially a ride to the restaurant and a ride back to the train station via tram?

A day ticket is 7.50 EUR. Since a 1 hour ticket is 3 EUR, buy 4 of these and you are good to go. Do you have a chip credit card with a PIN? Pretty much need that to use a vending machine. You can buy at a desk with cash in the GVB office outside Centraal where all the trams are. There can be a bit of a line depending on the time of year.

Now if you are referring the restaurant Wenkel 43, I don't think a tram is going to help much. The closest tram stop is at Marnixplein, about 500 meters away. Centraal is about 1300 meters. If it is raining, spring for a cab.

Yes, Winkel 43. Sorry about that; I corrected the spelling upthread. Ideally we would prefer to walk as Google maps says that taking the tram takes 12 minutes while walking all the way there is just 15 minutes. We would enjoy the walk.

If it's raining hard, how much would a taxi cost to go 1.5 km to Winkel 43? Does one hail a taxi from Amsterdam Centraal? From the restaurant, can you hail a taxi back to Amsterdam Centraal? Thanks.

Both the tram and the bus still leave you a 5 minute walk (500 m).

What about taxis? Does one hail a taxi at both Amsterdam Centraal and outside of a restaurant? What is the approximate taxi fare between Amsterdam Centraal & Winkel 43?

Thanks.

Taxifarefinder.com says 8.50 EUR, so budget 10 EUR, considering that a bus or tram will cost 2 people 6 EUR and only get you 2/3 of the way there. I have gotten taxis outside Centraal, and from a restaurant they could call a cab for you. And keep in mind, this is just a rainy day plan.

Thanks Sam. I didn't know about that website. And, yes, it's strictly a rainy day plan. We would much prefer to walk!
