Hello! My first post on this forum. My daughter-in-law and I are visiting Amsterdam September 9-12, 2024 as part of a longer trip. We are looking for a hotel close to the Anne Frank house, museums, etc. I appreciate any suggestions. From a quick glance online, I am thinking around $300 per night, 2 beds. Thank you!
Hello and welcome to the forum.
We are happy to help you, but one major issue with asking for recommendations on a forum is that the people giving the recommendations usually don’t check to see if the hotel they recommend still has availability for your dates. In your case availability is crucial, because your visit coincides with the start of the IBC convention in Amsterdam on September 12. This is a huge convention which causes hotel prices to skyrocket and availability to plummet.
What I would advise you to do instead, is go to a website like booking.com and search for hotels in Amsterdam. You can set filters for desired amenities, review score etc etc.
If you see some hotels you like, you can come back and ask questions about them. I also encourage you to read the reviews.
But most importantly I want to advise you to act fast and book a hotel asap. A lot of the hotels are already fully booked because of the convention.
Check out the Nadia Hotel, it is a little more than a block from the Anne Frank House.
We stayed a week, cost was $1000. We had one bed.
