Aalsmeer Flower Auction - worth getting up at dawn?

We have a morning free and wanted to know if anyone has visited the flower auction recently and if it is worth the early rise to get there by 7-ish. We are flower lovers, but have visited Kuekenhof and attended the flower parade and had read on other reviews that it was super for seeing the flowers getting carted around, etc., and good for flower growers, etc. Has anyone been in the last year or 6 months? Thanks! We would be going on Monday (I'm posting Saturday night), so looking to make up my mind soon!

I have not been in recent years, but there is no reason to think that it has changed. Have you read a description of it? We enjoyed it, and had a car, so it was perhaps less of a decision for us. This event is vulnerable to being moved online in the next ten years, so I would go now. It is not remotely like a garden visit. It sounds negative, but I don't mean it that way when I say it is more like visiting a flower factory, with a viewer's catwalk. Find out what time the modest restaurant opens.

I certainly enjoyed my visit - but it was pre-pandemic, so outside your date parameters.

We had a car and were there about 90 minutes. Good fun. Unlike anything else I'd ever seen. Like robots interacting in a ballet, but there were people driving - no robots.

If you want to see it before it all changes you may need to do so relatively soon.

I bet when it moves there will be real robots.

ABSOLUTELY worth it! Regardless of being a flower lover or not, it’s incredible. I am a gardener. Hubby and daughter rolled their eyes when I dragged them to it. They came away liking it just as much as I, if not more. The logistics of it are mind boggling.
