A hotel near Amsterdam train station

I will spend a weekend in Amsterdam at the end of January. I am looking for a comfortable but not expensive hotel near the central train station. Are there any such places?

Literally next door is the Ibsis Centre. I thought it would be noisy, but not so. Very comfortable and convenient. I thought the price was fair, but what's a good deal to one isn't to another, check it out.

What is your price range? How many Euro per night? Any particular reason why you need to be right near Centraal? Amsterdam is fairly compact and has a really good tram system (where most lines start/finish at Centraal) as well as a few metro lines which also start/finish at Centraal - you might find a better option in your price range a little further away from Centraal. Check Booking.com for options in your price range as well as reviews by travelers who have actually stayed at the location (you can't rate a place unless you booked a room online with them). I booked Hotel D'Amsterdam through Booking.com during a past trip to Amsterdam which I felt was a good bargain for being in a very central location in the city - but not knowing what your price range is makes it harder to give suggestions that would be relevant to you.

I am staying at Sebastians on canal Keizergracht end of this month. Researched another place that I almost booked, will check it out and respond after returning. I also stayed at the Ibis next to the train station and it was acceptable. This time I wanted to be on a canal.

I stayed about a month ago in Hotel Brouwer. Very nice, altough the place is very old, I found it charmy, the atmosphere around the place is excellent. It is in front of a canal. The price is very low. You are near everything, two minutes to take the tram, you have places to laundry, grab food or eat next door. I loved it, I highly recommend it. If you are in the RS accomodations philosophy this is a great place.

In addition to the Ibis connected to the station there is a more upscale newish Doubletree across the tram/bus plaza.

I'm going to second the recommendation for the Hotel Brouwer. It is definitely within walking distance. I loved my single that looked out on the canal.

Check out Mauro Mansion. It's less than a 5 minute walk from the train station.
