Hubby and I will be going back through Amsterdam with 8 hours to kill the beginning of September. Prior to our return, we will have already spent 2 days (we will be doing a canal cruise, Van museum, Dam Square, SAIL 2015, etc.) there and are now looking for something to fill our 8 hours prior to flight departure with. We have plans to go to Zaanse Schans but still need something additional to do. We will have a rental car so driving would be okay. Any ideas of what we could do before our departure flight at 9:30PM?

Haarlem is just a short 20 minute train from Centraal Station. If you have exhausted the sites in Amsterdam, you may want to stroll through Haarlem. The Rick Steves guide has a good write-up about what to see in Haarlem. I enjoyed the Dutch Resistance museum in Amsterdam if you have not seen that.
