7 hours layover in Copenhagen

Hello,
I will be travelling to Zurich from the US in April and will have a layover of almost 7 hours in Copenhagen, arriving there at 11 am. No checked-in bags, just one carry on. Would it be practical to make a quick trip to the city for some sightseeing and be back on time (I believe 2 hours prior) for my Zurich flight?
Thanks,
Thomas

Yes—since a train from CPH (Kastrup) Airport to Copenhagen’s central train station takes between 13-17 minutes— you’ll have several hours before needing to be back at the airport. Luggage lockers are at the train station near the exit to Istedgade Street.
So, it’s time for Tivoli Gardens, Rosenborg Castle and Nyhavn!
Have fun in Copenhagen!

I would check the bag on your first leg and take the metro rather than the train, it’s more central.

BTW: Copenhagen is in Denmark.

it’s more central.

That depends on what you want to see. Use https://www.rejseplanen.dk/webapp/?language=en_EN and https://www.google.com/maps/ to plan your trip

Nyhavn and Amalienborg (where the queen lives if you arrive before 14 January, and the king lives if after 14 January) are closer to the Metro, but Tivoli is closer to the train (Central Station = Hovedbanegården).

If you just want a general look-see, take the Metro to "Kongens Nytorv" (Kings New Square), visit Nyhavn and Amalienborg, then walk along the pedestrian street (Strøget) to Central station and take the train back to the airport.

I am thinking of booking the same itinerary. What about if I have two checked bags? Is it possible to leave the airport? Recommendations please. Thank you.
