3 (well really 2) days in Amsterdam

Hello!

I will be arriving in Amsterdam April 12 at 22:00 and leaving April 15 at 10:00. I am aware it is not a lot of time in Amsterdam but I am trying to get a realistic idea of what all I can get done during my short stay.

I will be doing a walking tour the first morning to get my bearings, and I am hoping to do some cycling to go see tulips!

In short, I am in need of information for the following...

-the best places and means of transportation to go see the tulips (my main reason for visiting) and windmills.

-the must see places, and places that can be skipped
-best restaurants (preferably cheap and local)
-best beer!!

For the tulip fields you must go to the area south of Haarlem (15 mins away by frequent train). You can rent a bike at the Haarlem railway station or at private rentals such as this one. Heemstede (one station further in the direction of Leiden/Den Haag/Rotterdam) also has a bike rental.
Alternative is to go to the Keukenhof gardens (bus from Schiphol airport) and use their bicycle rental.
You can also go to the railway station of Hillegom (same railway line) and have a walk in the area around the village of De Zilk.
