We are looking for some advice since this is our first time visiting the Netherlands. I am not sure if it's worth buying a Keukenhof tour, transportation from Amsterdam and grandstand seat package for the flower parade the cost is a little high in my opinion. We have never been to this parade and if we didn't buy this package we are concerned that we would not be able to find a spot along the parade route to enjoy the parade since I heard it's very busy at this time. That's why we were thinking about buying this package just to make sure we get a good viewing spot. Has anyone attended one of these flower parades in the past? Are they packed with people along the route or am I making a big deal over nothing? Thanks in advance.

We visited Keukenhof Gardens this past April. It does not disappoint! (We were on a Rick Steves tour; and did not see the parade, so I can't offer an opinion on your question, but maybe that previous conversation will give you some info.)

Are you still in the area on the Sunday immediately after the parade? If so, I would skip the parade and only visit the Keukenhof on the Saturday. On Sunday the floats are on display in the streets of Haarlem. The floats are parked there, so you can walk passed them and admire them in your own time. Haarlem itself is a nice historical city and well worth a visit, so after the parade you can explore the city.

We did the day after in the park visit as mentioned above. We wandered at will, lingered to our hearts’ desire and got uo close and literally smelled the flowers. It was a very nice day and much simpler for us than coordinating the parade logistics. Safe travels
