Help!!
Having difficulty with booking a room to accommodate 4 people; 2 adults and 2 teenagers.
Apartments were reviewed really poorly on other sights (trip advisor; booking.com, etc)
Hotels are expensive.
We have Never done VRBO and are very nervous!!!
Found the Wimdu sight with apartments/houses to rent.
Any experience? Suggestions?
Check airbnb.com for Amsterdam listings. Also check for houseboat rentals- that might be ideal for your family depending on your budget.

We have had excellent luck with VRBO. I look for reviews on their site, as well as how the person responds to my request. I will send you the apartment that we stayed in Amsterdam by private message.
We stayed in a lovely apartment in Amsterdam, obtained through VRBO. The listing is #318414. It was perfect for 2 couples and would also work for 2 adults and 2 teens....had 2 bedrooms/2 baths, was centrally located right on the Prisengracht Canal. We walked everywhere. The owner was quick with responses and very helpful with information. We were very pleased and would stay here again if returning to Amsterdam. Check out the reviews....they are spot on!! Enjoy the lovely city of Amsterdam!!! If going to the Anne Frank House, do obtain your entry tickets online ahead of time...saved us hours of waiting in line!! Also Rijksmuseum tickets and Keukenhof, if desired.
