Had a wonderful steak at The Meat Club in the museum district. The have other locations in Amsterdam as well. Great tenderloin, roasted veggies, salad and wine for around 100 euros per person. Not cheap, what is in Amsterdam?
Second recommendation is The Chicken Bar on a side street near Dam Square. Rotisserie chicken is one of my must have meals in The Netherlands. You can get a great meal here for around 20 euros per person. Great for a family as you can share a whole chicken and the sides easily serve two people.
BTW, make reservations if you can plan ahead. Good restaurants are often fully booked and walk-ins may not get a table.
