Metzlr House is a 15 minute walk from the train station, near the windmill and Restaurant Zuidam and a 10 minute walk to the Grote Markt in the center. We were in the new wing. Bed was very comfortable. Pillows perfect. Modern bath with nice shower, good pressure and hot water! Fluffy towels. We had a corner room on the 3rd floor with floor to ceiling windows and black out drapes. Usually love sleeping in the dark, but the sunsets were so beautiful couldn’t resist leaving a partial opening! Air conditioning and also a window that opened! Elevator. There is a restaurant/cafe in the lobby that serves included breakfast if you op for that, but also an à la carte breakfast. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner too and has nice outdoor patios. We looked into the redeveloped dome. It is actually a very creative work/education space with a movie theatre! The Zuidam is very enjoyable with good food! Nice to sit at or stroll along the river in the evening! It was our 2nd visit to Haarlem. On the 1st visit we stayed in a place with a narrow staircase and really poor lighting so it was a joy to have modern and still charming accommodations!
