Hotels for female college student traveling alone to stay in Amsterdam

Any recommendations for hotel / nicer hostel with private room to stay in Amsterdam? I am a 21 yr old female college student traveling alone. I would like to see the museums, stay near park and Leidesplanne. I am flying into Amsterdam from Ireland. Thanks!

What is your budget? Be aware that in Amsterdam, demand for accommodation outstrips supply, so be prepared to spend more, or get less for your money, than you hoped.

A good start is EuroCheapo - even if you aren't looking for a "cheap" place to stay. Start with their Amsterdam Hotel Advice page: http://www.eurocheapo.com/blog/amsterdam-hotel-advice.html

Last May, I stayed solo at Hotel Aalders, just a block or two away from the Van Gogh Museum and lose to a tram stop.. It's a small hotel and I found the staff very friendly and helpful. You have to be buzzed in through a locked door to enter the hotel, an extra layer of security that I appreciated as a solo female. The room was quite small, but fine for one person, with a view of an interior courtyard. Stairs were steep, but they actually have an elevator too. My rate included a breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room.

We stayed at Hotle Brouwer , which was recommended to us from several people on this site . It was a good choice , clean , small, and for Amsterdam , a good price . Amsterdam is very expensive for hotels , worse than Paris , so it was a lot of work finding a decent place we could afford ! We would stay there again .

My then 20 yr old daughter and her two friends back packed around Europe for two months last year , doing it all on the cheap and staying mostly in hostels . The only place they had an issue with their lodging was in Amsterdam, where she said it was terribly nosiey and she had her boots stolen while she slept , so my point is , if cheaping out choose carefully !

I am a single female traveling to AD next May and have booked an apartment in the De Pijp area for around €65 a night. I booked it through City Mundo, which was recommended on this website. So far I've been very pleased with their response and the arrangements, and it was easy to tailor the search for my budget. https://amsterdam.citymundo.com/
