In checking most of the Rick Steves recommended hotels/accommodations in Amsterdam for Sept 10-13, 2022, (yes, 14 months out), I am finding that there are no availabilities. Is this because it is too early to be booking or is it possible that hotels are really filling up this far out?
My best guess is that it is too far out.
are you open to a B&B? We much prefer them and there are so many amazing ones in Amsterdam. Plus, the owners are always so helpful with canals & directions. If you plan on doing the Ann Frank house (which we think is one of the best things to do in all of Europe) - be sure to buy your tickets online ASAP - they sell out fast and if you don't have early tickets, you may not get in at all.
And, yes, it is too early for many hotels - some only book a year out.
And, you have this posted in the HOTEL REVIEW section of the forums, this is for people to post reviews of hotels they stayed in. You may have better luck if you ask this in the Netherlands section under Countries.
We stayed on the Herengracht Canal at Hotel L’Ambassade and they are taking online reservations that far in advance.
Way, way, way too earlier. Six to nine months is a better time line.
