Hotel near Schiphol airport

We(two people) have an early flight out 8:30 on Aug 16th. Seems some people have problems with airport shuttles being ontime or having to walk a distance to catch one. (Really don't want a long walk and wait at 5am) What hotel would you suggest with either dependable shuttle or 3 min walk. Probably get in at dinner time so don't need anything fancy, just sleep and ride to airport
Thanks

CitizenM is your best option. In front of the main Hall. No shuttle whatsoever.

Hotel Schiphol is a business hotel just last the airport. They have a shuttle to take you to and from the terminal. It is the best hotel bargain in the area, and the rooms are absolutely huge. We once had a room for 4, and it had two leather couches and beds for all. We got to the airport and took the train to the city center train station in just a few minutes.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn "Airport" for two weeks just recently for a business trip. Shuttle is every 40 minutes...it's a good 15 minute drive, but is absolutely reliable. Hotel has a small dinner menu if you don't want to go out (there's no eating places anywhere near the hotel). Free breakfast too, but it starts at 6am so you probably won't have time given your flight. Other option is the Hoofdorp train stop across the street.

For one night, however, Citizen M will work just fine--5 minute walk, bunch of decent places to eat at the airport (relative to US airports anyway). I'm staying at the Airport Hilton for two weeks in August--fantastic hotel, but very pricey....and the client is paying for it.

Jack, I hope you enjoy the Hilton. I did not. They never saw an opportunity to charge that they passed up.
First, you can't use an airport luggage cart anywhere in the hotel and the lobby is down an escalator flight. I think I ended up with about 40 euros in extra charges every day and I didn't even eat in the restaurant.

Carol, I'm in my room at the Hilton, and flying out tomorrow. You are right. They charge you to breathe twice per minute instead of once. Arrive at 10am? Sorry, check in not until 2. UNLESSS.....you pay me 45EUR and then you can have a room. Park your car? 49EUR per night. Breakfast? minimum 25EUR....and this with a dozen nearby restaurants at the airport. Hey, at least they didn't charge me to stash my bags until check-in time....but maybe I shouldn't give them any ideas.

Client is paying, so no worries for me as a biz traveler. As a tourist on vacation, however, it would bother me bigtime.

This is our go-to hotel when transiting via AMS. The shuttle is reliable. While breakfast starts at 6am, they are great with allowing you to come early to put things in a bag to go especially if you're on their first shuttle which is at 5:40am. The train is very convenient too. We will be staying there overnight next month before our 9:10am return flight to JFK. We will be arriving at Amsterdam Centraal in the mid-afternoon so we'll store our luggage at the train station locker and enjoy the afternoon and evening in Amsterdam before hopping a train (that leaves every few minutes) to Hoofddorp. The hotel is a 5 minute walk away.
