Hotel Fita- absolutely lovely

Words cannot describe how wonderful our recent stay at Hotel Fita was. From the warm, friendly welcome to the kind and caring assistance we received. We had arrived for a 3 night stay after 2 weeks touring in Europe (via Bus 197 from Schiphol which stops just a short walk from the hotel) and by the next morning my daughter was extremely ill. Fortunately she has been to Amsterdam many times so being bedridden at such a lovely hotel was not nearly as tragic as it could have been elsewhere! The staff helped me get immediate medical care for her- then after I took a quick ride on tram to pharmacy and supermarket she was able to recuperate in our lovely comfy cozy room while I went out for some sightseeing! Since my daughter was staying on in Europe for another month it was very important to me that she felt better before I left her - the Hotel Fita made this possible and gave me such peace of mind.
The hotel is located on a quiet corner just steps away from the tram, Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, shops and cafes. The rooms are lovely, very clean, well appointed, excellent wifi connection.
The breakfast was fresh, delicious and plentiful. The bathroom is spacious and modern.
I will be returning to Amsterdam in 2016 and will be sure to book Hotel Fita early- no need to look anywhere else.

Christine:
I was delighted to read this post! My husband and I are staying at Hotel Fita in mid September for two nights, then taking the train to Bayeux for two nights before joining our Rick Steves tour in Paris. Booking online can be a bit daunting no matter how good the various reviews are, and now I am even more excited for our upcoming trip. This will be our first time in Amsterdam so the bus information from Schiphol to the hotel is particularly helpful! If you have any suggestions for cafes in the vicinity I would love to hear them.
